It has three distinctive ridges forming a 'y' shaped range with the peaks of Sail Ghardh (808m), Sail Gorm (776m), and Spidean Coinich (764m). The eastern peaks are capped by a thin layer of Cambrian quartzite while the range itself consists of Torridonian sandstone, resting on Lewisian gneiss. The area is therefore an excellent place to appreciate the geology of the western Highlands.
