With the completion of the railway line from Stromeferry to Kyle in 1897, the population of the village grew considerably making it central to life on that coast. A press account of the time describes the church as providing 'seating for 180 worshippers, faultless and extremely tasteful in every respect'. The Communion table is a replica of one that was in All Saints Church, Derby, and was gifted to Kyle by Lord Blytheswood, the then proprietor of Lochalsh
