Inverness Royal Academy Scottish Country Dancing teams, 1950s
ID:PC_ROYALACADEMY_013DESCRIPTION:Country dancing was one of the many extra-curricular activities available to pupils at Inverness Royal Academy during the early 1950s. Teams were entered into the local Country Dance and Musical Festival competitions, with some success.
We have no information available about the pupil's names, but the lady third from the left is believed to be Miss Janet Banks (mathematics teacher) who instructed the teams. In the Senior Section of a local Country Dance Festival in 1953, the Academy team took both 1st and 2nd places.
