Loch Cullin (Ross-shire) looking south west

ID: QZP40_1103_P014 DESCRIPTION: In the foreground of this illustration is Loch a' Chuilinn and beyond it Loch Achanalt. These two small lochs lie in the heart of Ross-shire, between Loch Luichart and Achnasheen, and are known for their pike fishing. The waters of the River Bran flow through them on their way eastwards to Loch Luichart. The Inverness-Kyle of Lochalsh railway line runs westwards along the south bank of Loch a' Chuilinn, then swings round to the north bank of Loch Achanalt, before reaching the station in Achanalt village. This was a place where stage horses were formerly changed and the building at the station was once a coaching inn. This illustration is taken from 'The Lakes of Scotland' by John Fleming.
