ID:QZP40_3289_P228DESCRIPTION:Mary Queen of Scots visited Inverness in 1562. Due to political troubles she was denied access to her own castle by the Earl of Huntly's Lieutenant-Governor. She is said to have found shelter in this house which was situated near the river. The house went through many alterations before it was demolished in 1968. The vaults of the house were incorporated into the entrance to the new building which was to house the offices of the Highlands and Islands Development Board.
