ID: QZP40_CARD_0828 DESCRIPTION: Novar House, part of Novar Estate near Evanton. The house was originally built in the 17th century but was reconstructed in 1765. Sir Hector Munro, on returning from service with the East India Company, made vast improvements to Novar Estate and turned the original Novar House into a classical Georgian square. The estate passed to his daughter on his death and has remained in the Munro Ferguson family ever since. Novar estate encompasses 20,000 acres of land between the River Glass and the River Alness and incorporates farming, forestry and country sports.
