ID:QZP40_CARD_2238DESCRIPTION:Sgurr na Stri (the peak of the conflict or fight, possibly opposing winds) stands above Loch Scavaig with the sheltered bay of Camusunary on the right in this photograph. The walk into the bay is relatively easy, however continuing to the renowned Loch Coruisk necessitates following the base of Sgurr na Stri and traversing the Bad Step, a cleft in a slab of rock where an error of judgement lands the climber in Loch Scavaig. A much easier approach to Loch Coruisk is by boat from Elgol, a popular trip undertaken by most visitors since Victorian timesPLACENAME:ElgolOLD COUNTY/PARISH:INVERNESSCREATOR (AV):J Valentine & Co.PERIOD:1930s; 1940sSOURCE:Highland LibrariesCOLLECTION:Highland Libraries' Postcard CollectionAsset ID:34136KEYWORDS:
