Many a walker and climber have begun their trek to the ridge and on into the Cuillin, from this vantage point. The distinctive cone of Sgurr nan Gillean rises high above the burn at the starting point for walking, and with each step across the bare moorland, the true grandeur of the hill rising from a broad base, becomes apparent.
