ID:QZP40_CARD_2573DESCRIPTION:Perhaps one of the finest of the Red Cuillin, the great bulk of Marsco sits in prominence over Glen Sligachan. From Sligachan, a walk of about 8 miles and 6 hours would take one to the top and back of this 2416ft (736m) hill, and by taking different paths on ascent and descent it can be made a circular route. It can be a hard and unrelenting climb, but well worth the effort with wonderful views all round and taking in the whole of the Cuillin ridge rising high above Harta Corrie. An ideal day for this climb would be as pictured in this postcard, with the stillness reflected in the loch. In such weather, the peaks behind Marsco, Garbh-bheinn 2644ft (806m), and the distant jagged peak of Bla Bheinn 3044 ft (928m) stand out against the clear skiesPLACENAME:SligachanOLD COUNTY/PARISH:INVERNESSPERIOD:1950sSOURCE:Highland LibrariesCOLLECTION:Highland Libraries' Postcard CollectionAsset ID:34476KEYWORDS:
