ID:QZP99_93134_06_10DESCRIPTION:An early black and white photograph of a thatched house at Ardmair, near Ullapool. It was occupied by the MacLeod family, the last occupant being Colin MacLeod. The community later erected alternative accommodation on an adjacent site and Colin lived there until his health made it no longer possible to do so. He died in the 1980.
Ardmair, or 'Ard Mheur' in Gaelic, is a small coastal crofting village on the north-west of the Scottish coastline. North-west of the regional centre of Ullapool, it is situated in a rugged landscape of sea lochs and craggy mountains. Stunning views of the Summer Isles can be had from Ardmair Point.
