ID: QZP99_94130_02_12 DESCRIPTION: A group of houses at the crofting township of Toscaig on the west coast of the Applecross Peninsula. The peninsula lies between Loch Torridon and Loch Kishorn and looks west across to Raasay and Skye. There are only two roads into the peninsula. One follows the coast from Sheildaig and the other, Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle), was originally a drove road. It zigzags through the hills and reaches a height of 2053ft above sea level. This image comes from a collection gifted to Edinburgh Central Library by Dr Isabel F. Grant. The collection includes photographs taken by a number of different photographers.
