ID:QZP99_97193_10_09DESCRIPTION:Boats bringing hay across the North Ford, which separates North Uist and Benbecula. While it was sometimes possible to cross on foot or by boat, often, it was too wet to walk but not wet enough to cross in a boat. The problem was solved when a causeway was opened in 1960.
