I got today your letters of 25th & 26th for which thank you so very very much. I do so appreciate your little packets from Fortnum & Mason which arrived all right. I am not allowed to write where I go to, that is why I could not tell you about the trenches. We are still here. It is a filthy dirty place & where my men are billeted is perfectly horrible. However, I hope we shan’t be here long. The news is fairly good...
