Tomnahurich translates as 'the hill of the yew trees' and is also known as the 'Fairy Hill'. The land in the foreground of the picture became Victoria Park in the second half of the 19th century. It was built over with housing c.1910. The Northern Meeting Park can be seen between the Glenurquhart Road and the Cathedral.
