The first Northern Meeting Games took place at Dochfour in 1835 and they were held annually (except 1914-1918), usually in September, for the next century. In 1837 the venue for the games was moved to fields in the Longman and they remained there until 1864 when the Northern Meeting Park was opened. The Northern Meeting Games were last held in August 1938.
