Plaque to commemorate the installation of floodlights at Telford Street in 1959
ID:PC_INVFOOT_ICTFC_001DESCRIPTION:This plaque was unveiled at Caledonian FC's Telford Street ground to mark the installation of the club's floodlights in March 1959.
The lights were paid for brothers William MacDonald and Huigh MacDonald who lived at Springfield House, Inverness (at the time of writing, 2022, this is the hotel known as Ness Walk). The lights were switched on by their sister, Mrs M. Lowe.
It was the second time Caley had had floodlights installed, the first occasion being in 1933 but only two games were played under them before they were taken to Loch Ness to help in the search for the "monster".
